Position Overview
We are in search of a talented Senior Product Manager to become a vital member of our Platform team. In this capacity, you will take ownership of one or more critical product domains and demonstrate expertise in SaaS product management.
Your responsibilities will encompass shaping the product strategy, developing the roadmap, and executing initiatives for designated areas within the Platform. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure effective product delivery. The Platform includes components such as Common Admin/User Management, Common Identity (OptiID), Provisioning, Optimizely Data Platform (ODP), Optimizely Connect Platform for integrations (OCP), Reporting, Content Recommendations, Product Recommendations, and Data Science, with a specific focus on the Data Science domain. You will gain an in-depth understanding of the features and technologies relevant to your assigned product areas and will be recognized as a subject matter expert within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the Voice of the Customer by collecting direct feedback from users and stakeholders, utilizing various tools to prioritize requests for product enhancements.
- Maintain regular communication regarding priorities and manage stakeholder expectations effectively.
- Establish principles for prioritization that support consistent, data-driven decision-making.
- Possess technical knowledge, including a foundational understanding of Machine Learning and Data Science.
- Conduct research and discovery as needed to inform product development.
- Stay informed about industry trends and developments to anticipate customer needs.
- Prepare detailed Product Requirements Documents (PRDs) with early input from Engineering and UX to ensure an optimal user experience, collaborating closely with these teams throughout the product lifecycle.
- Inspire and guide the scrum team to meet commitments and deadlines, providing necessary context, clearly articulating the value proposition, setting timelines, and reporting progress to leadership.
- Establish a predictable rhythm for product delivery while maintaining high standards for product quality.
- Advocate for the company and departmental strategy, communicating it regularly to your scrum and partner teams, with a focus on customer benefits and satisfaction.
- Align team efforts with company objectives by defining metrics to measure impact (quantifiable key results / OKRs).
- Drive execution and adoption, learning, and adapting based on user feedback and data, including implementing and monitoring dashboards to track relevant metrics for actionable insights.
- Build meaningful relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally to achieve business goals.
- Actively engage in and lead initiatives aimed at enhancing our operational effectiveness as a product organization.
- Address conflicts and challenging conversations with professionalism and directness.
- Take ownership of issues, exercising sound judgment on when to escalate matters to leaders and stakeholders.
- Serve as a visible spokesperson for the product, participating in presentations, demos, customer interactions, and speaking engagements.
- Foster a culture of inclusion and empathy within the team.
- Proactively seek out and lead challenging projects.
- Provide and receive constructive feedback to and from team members.
- Mentor junior team members and share knowledge and best practices across the team.
Qualifications
- 5-8 years of experience in SaaS product management; or 3-5 years of product experience with significant Optimizely exposure.
- Strong business acumen and a solid understanding of the key drivers of business success.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
- Self-motivated individual capable of leading cross-functional initiatives independently.
- Proven history of delivering high-quality, timely product outcomes with measurable positive impacts on the business.
- Experience with rapid experimentation to facilitate quick learning, iteration, and optimization.
