The Role of the Local IT OfficerThe Local IT Officer (LITO) is a critical role within our organization, responsible for providing IT support and services to local users. This includes active engagement with local stakeholders, training and communication, incident and problem management, financial management, security, and asset management.
Key ResponsibilitiesTraining and Communication
The LITO will communicate relevant IT and OT updates to local stakeholders on a monthly basis, provide regular training sessions on global IT solutions, and actively scan training needs in the local area.
Incident and Problem Management
The LITO will ensure that incidents are allocated to the correct IT resolver groups, monitor all IT incidents escalated by users in the local domain, and work with partner escalation teams to ensure proper follow-up.
Financial Management
The LITO will ensure that annual local POs (for IT) are timely and adequately entered, including accrual, and work with local controllers to ensure that local invoicing is timely and adequately processed.
Security
The LITO will ensure the security of the local IT and OT infrastructure, actively working with global IT, local OT teams, and Facilities to protect against potential threats.
Asset Management
The LITO will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of local hardware and software, helping to track the status of local assets, and ensuring that the CMDB is up to date.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, the LITO will need to have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, a minimum of 3 years of experience in the IT sector, and strong service management skills. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of best practice solutions in the shared solutions space, strong communication and stakeholder management skills, and the ability to work autonomously.
The LITO will also need to have a process mindset, be able to think in solutions, and have a strong focus on productivity. They will need to be able to stay calm under pressure, deal with operational and tactical issues, and primarily focus on strategic ambitions.
