Purchasing Expert for Shipbuilding

The role of Purchaser is within the Supply Chain department of Damen Workboats, containing teams such as Procurement, Material Coordination, Category Management and Standards & Documentation.
About the RoleAs a Purchaser, you will be responsible for ensuring a swift and seamless procurement process for predominantly standardized components, with prices outlined in our framework agreements.
This requires collaborating with a dynamic team, including Procurement, Material Coordination, Category Management and Standards & Documentation, to ensure that materials are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Accountabilities- Proactively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and escalate potential risks in a timely manner.
- Embrace a teamwork-oriented approach and actively participate in team-established processes and workflows.
- Contribute actively to improvement programs and events aimed at optimizing our global supply chain for goods.
- Continuously assess and align procurement set-up and planning with the Material Coordinator and the shipyard to ensure seamless production planning.
- Maintain real-time awareness of delivery statuses and promptly update this information in our ERP program.
- Demonstrate the ability to early identify and mitigate risks within the supply chain.
- Take responsibility of complete and correct purchase info record information in our ERP system.
- Engage in supplier performance and supplier development discussions, ensuring operational alignment with our procurement and logistics processes.
- A Bachelor degree preferably in Logistics, Supply Chain or Industrial Engineering;
- and/or at least 3 years working in an International Supply Chain or Procurement role, preferably in a process driven industry;
- Experience with working in a commercial environment;
- Excellent communication skills in English/Dutch, both spoken and written;
- Experience with working in ERP systems (knowledge of SAP is a pre);
- Hands-on mentality, with a service-oriented approach.
