Damen Shipyards is a leading manufacturer of innovative, standardized, and smart-customized vessels. Our goal is to develop, design, and construct a portfolio of tugs, dredgers, and workboats in the most effective and efficient manner, primarily based on series production of smart-customized standard designs.
The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Engineer Shipbuilding to join our multi-disciplinary team consisting of the Shipbuilding, Mechanical, and Electrical and Automation disciplines. The successful candidate will work on our Tugs portfolio at Workboats, responsible for creating designs, specifications, drawings, and weight and stability calculations within regular standards. The role involves engineering standard vessels and developing new vessels, with a focus on quality and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities- Creating and checking designs, specifications, drawings, and weight and stability calculations within regular standards;
- Producing part and order lists and preparing technical specifications for purchase orders with regards to specifications and planning;
- Supporting the Class and National Authorities approval process;
- Registering and archiving designs, drawings, and project-related information;
- Registering, monitoring, and identifying hours spent on engineering work;
- Monitoring quality and striving for a zero-defects output.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience;
- A completed technical-oriented vocational education (HBO) in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering;
- Good communication skills in English;
- Quality consciousness and accuracy;
- The ability to plan and organize work effectively;
- Experience with software packages such as AutoCAD, Cadmatic-Hull.
