Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled Shipbuilding Engineer to join our team at Damen Maritime Ventures. As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for working on the development of the Basic Engineering package, including Class and Client approvals, management of Detail Engineering partners, and production support.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop shipbuilding projects, including specifications, detail drawings, and work plans;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project deliverables meet client requirements;
- Manage and coordinate with subcontractors to ensure timely and quality delivery of projects;
- Perform feasibility and risk analyses on initial designs;
- Support in client, Class, and national authorities' approval processes;
- Develop and maintain technical specifications and standards for shipbuilding projects;
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and other team members.
- Bachelor's degree in Shipbuilding or Maritime Engineering;
- 1-2 years of relevant work experience in shipbuilding or a related field;
- Excellent communication and project management skills;
- Proficiency in software packages like AutoCAD, Rhino, and Nupas-Cadmatic;
- Experience with Maxsurf or Siemens NX (FEM) is a plus;
- Ability to work in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities;
- Fluency in English and Dutch languages.
