Shipbuilding Engineer

The RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shipbuilding Engineer to join our engineering team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for developing the Basic Engineering package, including Class and Client approvals, managing Detail Engineering partners, and providing production support. Your expertise will be essential in driving the success of our projects and contributing to the growth of our company.
Key Responsibilities- Develop design specifications, detail drawings, and work drawings within established procedures and standards;
- Register and archive designs, drawings, and project-related information;
- Design and integrate steel outfitting and structures, such as hull doors, stairs, and other components;
- Prepare construction plans and deck arrangements;
- Perform calculations for weights, stability, and structures in the shipbuilding area;
- Conduct feasibility and risk analyses on initial designs;
- Produce order lists and technical specifications for purchase orders based on specifications and planning;
- Support client, Class, and national authorities' approval processes;
- Coordinate outsourced work to subcontractors;
- Bachelor's degree in Shipbuilding or Maritime Engineering;
- 1-2 years of relevant work experience;
- Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English;
- Interest in innovation and open-mindedness to new technologies;
- Experience with software packages like AutoCAD, Rhino, and Nupas-Cadmatic;
- Experience with Maxsurf or Siemens NX (FEM) is a plus;
- Ability to work in a team, plan and organize tasks, learn new skills, and focus on results;
- Excellent command of Dutch and English languages;
- Availability of 32-40 hours per week;
