Senior HR Advisor

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior HR Advisor to join our team at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University. As a key member of our HR team, you will play a critical role in providing strategic HR advice and support to our academic staff and professional services staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage absence cases, ensuring compliance and effective communication with the central HR Illness team.
- Take care of employee relations cases, providing expert advice and support to managers and employees.
- Support the development and implementation of HR policies, working closely with the HR Business Partner and RSM's policy advisor.
- Manage employee engagement and performance initiatives, including the design and delivery of training programs.
- Advise managers on people-related matters, providing guidance on HR best practices and policies.
- Manage the on- and off-boarding procedures, ensuring a smooth transition for new and departing employees.
- Collaborate closely with our HR team, as well as with HR Advice colleagues from the central EUR HR team and specialist from shared services teams.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in HRM, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in an HR advisory role, with a focus on absence management, employee relations, policy development, and engagement.
- Experience working in a university or similarly structured organization is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to simplify complex issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with stakeholders at different levels in the organization.
