As a Deck Officer Candidate with Anthony Veder, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fleet of vessels.

This role involves working closely with experienced Deck Officers and gaining hands-on experience in various aspects of vessel operations.

You will be responsible for assisting with navigation, cargo handling, and maintenance tasks, while also participating in safety drills and emergency response training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with navigation tasks, including chart plotting and monitoring of weather conditions
  • Support cargo operations, including loading, unloading, and securing of cargo
  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks on deck equipment and machinery
  • Participate in safety drills and emergency response training
  • Follow all company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations

To succeed in this role, you should have a strong interest in the maritime industry and a desire to pursue a career as a Deck Officer.

You should also possess excellent communication and teamwork skills, as you will be working closely with a diverse team onboard our vessels.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid STCW Basic Safety Training certification
  • Proficiency in English language (both written and spoken)
  • Ability to work well in a team and follow instructions
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Physical fitness and ability to work in challenging weather conditions
  • Willingness to travel and work on board vessels for extended periods
  • Basic knowledge of navigation and maritime regulations
  • Attention to detail and ability to perform tasks accurately
