Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated Azure Virtual Desktop Engineer to support the transformation and standardization of our infrastructure services. The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration and maintenance of the Azure Virtual Desktop platform across Europe, ensuring a standardized environment. This role involves defining and advising on service delivery and performing service integrations in collaboration with our service provider team and trusted partners.

Key Responsibilities
In this position, you will undertake the following tasks:

  • Design, implement, and manage DaaS solutions for the organization.
  • Enhance the performance, scalability, and security of Azure Virtual Desktop.
  • Ensure a consistent and efficient virtual endpoint experience for end-users.
  • Establish standards for managing Azure Virtual Desktop, including Nerdio.
  • Continuously monitor and optimize platform performance for seamless user experience.
  • Work with security teams to implement and manage necessary security measures.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and definition of User Experience standards, optimizing user interfaces and ensuring intuitive system design.
  • Exhibit expert-level proficiency with key technologies and a willingness to develop expertise in new technologies.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement of the AVD Platform.
  • Assess the impact of emerging technology and business trends.

You will also oversee resources from our preferred Service Provider:

  • Ensure operational support tasks related to Virtual Desktop Infrastructure are executed according to standards, meeting SLA/SLI/SLO targets.
  • Provide Level 3 troubleshooting assistance, root cause analysis, and performance benchmarking.
  • Deliver monthly reports and assist in developing the service roadmap.
  • Support necessary testing and periodic Disaster Recovery assessments of the Service.

Experience / Education
Candidates should have:

  • Over two years of in-depth knowledge of Azure Virtual Desktop.
  • Experience managing Active Directory Tooling (Group Policy Objects and linking to OU structures).
  • Familiarity with Intune Device Management (Configuration policies, Entra Hybrid Join integration).
  • Understanding of Entra AD (SSO, Entra Hybrid Join).
  • A foundational level of education.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams at a European or Global level.
