Role Overview
As a commercial manager, you will have the exceptional opportunity to influence the dynamic and professional realm of maritime salvage, including emergency response and wreck removal. By negotiating and finalizing contracts, you will assist clients, such as prominent shipping and offshore companies, as well as port authorities, in preserving their vessels, cargo, and reputations while contributing to the conservation of our oceans. In this capacity, you will engage in negotiations with clients and ultimately finalize agreements. You will remain attuned to client needs while also prioritizing the commercial interests of SMIT Salvage and Boskalis.
Your responsibilities extend beyond contract finalization; you will maintain commercial oversight throughout the project's execution, serving as a vital member of the project team. Collaborating closely with professionals, you will identify client needs and negotiate additional services, new pricing agreements, or variations. Your role will also encompass financial settlements and overall project reconciliations with subcontractors, including dispute resolution, payments, and claims.
Given the unpredictable nature of maritime operations, each day as a commercial manager presents unique challenges. You may find yourself working anywhere in the world, often outside standard office hours.
