Role Overview

The Quantitative Researcher will work in our global quantitative strategies team, managing $37 billion for clients worldwide. The key objective is to generate cutting-edge quantitative research focused on alpha generation and sustainable approaches.

This role involves performing all aspects of quantitative research, including idea generation, data acquisition, statistical analysis, and documentation of findings. You will provide direction to other team members as required and communicate research findings effectively within the organization and externally to clients and prospects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct empirical research in global financial markets with an emphasis on sustainability (investment) data.
  • Apply machine learning and artificial intelligence to create applied signal research, portfolio construction research, backtesting, and risk assessment of new investment strategies.
  • Identify and develop new investment ideas or opportunities.
  • Exercise sophisticated analytical thought to identify innovative solutions.
Requirements
  • Solid programming ability in languages such as Python, PySpark, MATLAB, or R.
  • Strong knowledge of established asset pricing and factor anomaly literature.
  • Fundamental understanding of sustainability data and its application within an investing context.
  • Ability to quickly master new applications and tools to evolve the capabilities of the quantitative platform.
  • Understanding of AI techniques and their application in an investment context.
Education and Experience
  • Masters degree in finance, economics, data science, mathematics, or related field required.
  • 5+ years of quantitative research experience.
  • Experience using sustainability data in signal creation or portfolio construction research.
  • Experience applying Machine Learning models within an investing context, particularly alternative data.
Compensation and Benefits

Our competitive salary for this role is approximately $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits and bonuses.
