IT Support Specialist

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a skilled IT Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Corporate Infrastructure & Security team, you will be responsible for providing technical support to our colleagues in the EMEA region. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the smooth operation of desktop and laptop systems, as well as providing assistance with network and connectivity issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to end-users, resolving hardware and software incidents within defined SLAs.
- Install, configure, and coordinate PC hardware and client applications in a Windows environment.
- Support existing and new IT infrastructure and applications for designated function/site/application platforms.
- Perform racking and stacking in server rooms, and plan, coordinate, and carry out hardware installations, moves, additions, and modifications.
- Offer network support, including port activation, and collaborate with Network Support Engineers for extensive problem-solving.
Requirements:
- Minimum educational requirement of an MBO in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience in the field of IT.
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and PC hardware.
- Experience with Microsoft Office product group, and familiarity with racking and stacking in server rooms.
- Proficiency in using service management tools and updating incidents as they progress or are resolved.
- Ability to provide support using remote tools, antivirus and backup programs, and hardware imaging.
