Job DescriptionThe Functional Application Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our engineering applications. This includes addressing operational issues, ensuring data integrity, and collaborating with solution providers for enhancements. Additionally, this role contributes to strategic application development by providing expertise, verifying specifications, and shaping the roadmap for ongoing improvements.
Key Responsibilities:- Supports application use: Enhances (engineering) applications for business efficiency.
- Develops specifications: Improves existing and new applications to meet business needs.
- Drives performance: Ensures seamless application execution and identifies areas for improvement.
- Analyzes issues: Collaborates with stakeholders to resolve complex problems.
- Reports bugs: Communicates with external suppliers to ensure timely resolution.
- Advises stakeholders: Aligns on issue impact and provides guidance on mitigation strategies.
- Verifies solutions: Enhances functionality to meet business requirements.
- Provides support: Assists users in understanding and utilizing applications effectively.
- Tests enhancements: Conducts thorough testing before deployment to ensure quality.
- Contributes to documentation: Develops training materials and guides to facilitate knowledge sharing.
- Bridges the gap between IT and business with knowledge of business processes and IT capabilities.
To excel as the Functional Application Manager, you should possess the following qualifications and qualities:
- 3+ years of experience working in a similar position, preferably in a corporate environment as part of a staff department.
- Experience in application maintenance, preferably within a technical, complex engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Experience in Product Lifecycle Management.
- Bachelor's or Master's level in IT or other relevant discipline.
- Experience with 3DX Dassault Systems or SAP is advantageous.
- Good command of the Dutch and English language (written and verbal).
- Excellent references and a clean background are essential, as a pre-employment security screening is standard part of the recruitment procedure.
- Possession of permanent EU citizenship and passport is mandatory, and candidates with NL/EU work visa or dual nationality are not eligible due to project restrictions.
As a valued employee at Damen Shipyards, we provide a competitive package that includes:
- A salary range of €60,000 - €80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
- 27 holidays and 13 ADV days per year.
- Travel allowance of 23 cents per kilometre.
