About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Protection Risk Management Expert to join our Compliance team at ING. As a key member of the Data Protection (DP) team, you will be responsible for leading and developing the approach for managing and monitoring compliance risks arising from processing personal data by ING The Netherlands.

The DP team is responsible for ensuring that structural solutions for personal data protection, data privacy, and data retention activities meet all internal and external compliance requirements. You will contribute to setting standards for the DP area, developing and innovating data protection and retention risk management, and defining the DP risk appetite and related risk management processes.

As a team player, you will work closely with the Data Protection Officer (DPO) and other risk functions to monitor and report on the proper operating effectiveness and adherence to applicable laws, regulations, policies, and controls. You will also design effective awareness and training activities and contribute to the design of approaches and guidance on DP matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer integrated DP advice on strategic business initiatives
  • Provide advice on data protection-related assessments and ensure adequate follow-up on identified risks
  • Monitor and report on the proper operating effectiveness and adherence to applicable laws, regulations, policies, and controls
  • Design effective awareness and training activities
  • Contribute to the design of approaches and guidance on DP matters
