Job Title: Facility and Equipment Maintenance Officer

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Facility and Equipment Maintenance Officer to join our dynamic team at Mérieux NutriSciences. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing laboratory equipment and facilities maintenance, co-managing our suppliers, and leading projects related to facility upgrades and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facility Management: Ensure the proper functioning and upkeep of laboratory facilities, addressing any issues promptly to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the repair, maintenance, and calibration of laboratory equipment, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with industry standards.
  • Supplier Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality services.
  • Procurement: Purchase lab devices and take over the procurement function temporarily when the procurement officer is absent.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure all equipment and facilities meet regulatory requirements and safety standards, conducting regular inspections and audits.
  • Budget Management: Manage budgets for equipment maintenance and supplier-related projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • Preferably have a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, and at least 2 years of experience in supplier management, equipment maintenance, preferably in a laboratory or technical environment.
  • Developed strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Knowledge of laboratory equipment and facilities is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organized and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Speak Dutch and English.

What We Offer:

  • A full-time gross salary starting from €3,300 per month, depending on professional experience.
  • A holiday allowance equal to 8% of the annual gross salary.
  • A full-time position of 40 hours per week.
  • The possibility to work from home two days a week with a full-time job.
  • An advantageous pension scheme.
  • A one-year employment contract, with the intention of moving to permanent employment thereafter.
  • 27 vacation days per year with a full-time job.
  • A fixed travel allowance of up to a maximum of €140 net per month for a full-time job.
  • A company laptop and mobile phone.
