Job Summary

The Event Manager is responsible for the coordination of ISWA's global event portfolio, including congresses, conferences, exhibitions, training courses, and webinars. This role requires a professional with experience in international events and strong organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a strategic overview of the ISWA events calendar, optimizing time and resources.
  • Oversee the organization of ISWA events, from initial planning to marketing, on-site management, budgeting, and post-event evaluation.
  • Support local organizers and partners on ISWA-related events.
  • Negotiate agreements and contracts.
  • Coordinate event marketing with the communication and membership team.
  • Lead the organization of the annual ISWA World Congress in support of the host organizer and partners.
  • Organize ISWA's presence at and activities at trade exhibitions and international forums.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant international work experience.
  • Demonstrable experience in leading the full event management cycle for both in-person and online events.
  • Strong coordination, organizational, and administrative skills.
  • Diplomatic skills to liaise with participants and co-organizers from international institutions, industry partners, experts, and external companies.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to overcome issues and find solutions.
  • Ability to learn quickly and deliver high-quality results while respecting deadlines.
  • Works well under pressure, self-motivated, self-sufficient, and reliable.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel.
  • Proficient command of English in writing and speaking.
  • Interest in sustainable waste management.
