About the JobThis is a full-time position located in Eindhoven, The Netherlands, for a duration of two years. As an Electron Microscopy Researcher, you will be part of a diverse and collaborative team contributing to advanced research and development in the field of electron microscopy.
Job DescriptionKey responsibilities include driving novel electron optical concepts, demonstrating technology feasibility, and supporting R&D in product development. You will work closely with our collaboration partner in Israel for 50% of your time on laser-based TEM devices.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer from an academic setting to industry.
- Set up and troubleshoot early prototypes at Thermo Fisher Eindhoven.
- Independent operation and troubleshooting of laser-based devices for TEM in Eindhoven.
To be successful in this role, you should have a PhD in Applied Physics or similar, preferably in the field of laser physics. Additionally, you should have hands-on experience with independently setting up experiments with lasers and optical systems, and be motivated to work in both an industry and academia setting.
- Understanding of theoretical and practical aspects of TEM operation.
- Motivated to bridge the gap between academic proof-of-principle work and industrial prototype development.
- Affinity with instrumentation and method development.
- Familiarity with optics and laser systems.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Fluent in English.
