About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Engineering Specialist to join our team at Lloyd's Register. As a Surveyor Existing Ships, you will be responsible for evaluating the design, production, and operational aspects of engineering assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct surveys on various types of ships, both during construction and throughout their service life.
  • Perform ISM/ISPS audits and MLC inspections on ships in service.
  • Interpret and apply national and international rules and regulations relevant to marine assets.
  • Apply fundamental principles of risk management.
  • Ensure effective project management, including client communication, financial oversight, and timely, accurate reporting.

Requirements

  • A BSc or MSc in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in applying both general and specialized engineering knowledge to optimize the use of current and emerging technologies.
  • Strong capability to use theoretical and practical methods for analyzing and solving engineering challenges.
  • Ability to provide technical and commercial leadership within assigned responsibilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English, effective across all levels.
