We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Procurement and Category Management Expert to join our team at ING. As a key member of our Global Procurement team, you will play a critical role in driving our procurement strategy and ensuring the successful delivery of our technology category.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading international bank at the forefront of technology innovation and digitalization. As a Senior Procurement and Category Management Expert, you will be responsible for leading procurement projects, developing and implementing procurement strategies, and building strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead procurement projects from cradle to grave, including gathering stakeholder requirements, RFP, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to drive efficiency, reduce costs, and improve supplier relationships.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization, including business partners, suppliers, and other procurement colleagues.
  • Collaborate with key business partners to ensure alignment with strategic direction and priorities.
  • Drive fact-based discussions and negotiations to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Instill a high-performance culture across the procurement community, driving stakeholder satisfaction and cost savings targets.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of relevant work experience leading projects in procurement and category management.
  • Solution-orientated with demonstrable experience in the end-to-end lifecycle of projects for the technology category.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to drive fact-based discussions.
  • Strong knowledge of legal aspects of procurement.
  • Independent operator with great empathy skills to connect with colleagues.
  • Resilience, ability to deal with ambiguity, and manage complexity.
  • Master English language/communication perfectly (spoken and written).
