Financial Controller

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our team at Zander Labs in Berlin, Cottbus, Delft, and München. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for all aspects of financial management, including the development of internal control.

This part-time role offers a great work-from-home balance and the opportunity to work with a dynamic team. We welcome returning professionals and are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive work environment.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee overall financial management and steer our external partners in the Netherlands and Germany.
  • Act as the primary liaison for all financial matters concerning the NAFAS project and the broader Zander Labs business.
  • Conduct early assessments, analyses, and quantifications of the financial implications of risks and opportunities, with regular monitoring of action plans.
  • Proactively monitor and scrutinize project cash flow.
  • Offer insightful guidance on financial matters and potential opportunities to the management team.
  • Run accounting operations, including contact with external accountants, billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cost accounting, inventory accounting, revenue recognition, cash flow management, and control of man-hours.
  • Take the lead in our upcoming funding round, serving as a sparring partner for the board and non-executives, and guiding the entire funding process from start to finish.
  • Collaborate with the team, demonstrating an open personality and experience working in a dynamic environment with distributed teams.
  • Proven working experience as a Financial Controller in the Netherlands and/or Germany.
  • 5+ years of combined experience in accounting, finance, and funding, or the talent and ability to grasp finance/funding knowledge swiftly.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Experience creating financial statements, general ledger functions, and the month-end/year-end close process.
  • Knowledge of accounting software.
  • Dutch language skills (B2 or better).
