Purchasing with Impact is a pivotal strategic initiative within the Supply business unit. This program operates on a global scale, encompassing all three supply chain regions: North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific. The primary goal is to enhance purchasing performance across the entire value chain, ultimately leading to improved financial outcomes for Vanderlande. This will be achieved through targeted savings initiatives, optimization of specific supply chains, global standardization, and the establishment of a future-ready operational model.

Your responsibility will be to assist the program team of Purchasing with Impact, which includes a program manager overseeing the daily execution of the initiative. The program manager is supported by various workstream leaders, each responsible for different aspects of the overall program. Throughout your assignment, you will engage in various initiatives for the different team members, who come from diverse backgrounds including procurement, supply chain management, consultancy, and finance.


Vanderlande is conveniently located, making it accessible from various surrounding areas.

Role Description

This student assignment offers an opportunity to gain practical experience with a significant impact in a multinational organization. Vanderlande is transitioning from an engineering-to-order (ETO) model to a configure-to-order (CTO) approach. This shift will create synergies and economies of scale, delivering greater value to our customers through enhanced quality and competitive pricing. You will be integral to the program, contributing to the transformation of our purchasing organization to support the transition from ETO to CTO by unlocking improved pricing and lead times.

Key Responsibilities

This working student position will focus on supporting the program team in achieving their objectives across various workstreams, which may include workshop facilitation and project management office (PMO) activities related to savings and cost tracking.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Managing, reporting, and consolidating key performance indicators (KPIs) across the three regions: North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific.
  • Conducting analytical tasks such as data preparation, analysis, insight development, and reporting these insights to management.
  • Performing PMO duties, including creating general program communications and leading several workshops within the Purchasing with Impact domain.
  • Managing smaller digital projects, such as developing spend analytics dashboards and supplier delivery performance dashboards.

Desired Skills:

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI is required; familiarity with Smartsheet and Jira is advantageous.
  • Soft Skills: Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive.
Working Conditions
  • A minimum assignment duration of 3 months.
  • 32-40 hours per week.
  • Hourly compensation of €15.
  • 10% holiday hours.
  • 8.33% holiday allowance.
  • Weekly payment through Olympia.
