Job Description

As a Supervisor of Manufacturing Engineering System Integration within Operations at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will lead a team of engineers and technical specialists to ensure the successful integration of manufacturing engineering systems. Your primary responsibility will be to coach and develop your team members, ensuring their personal and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of engineers and technical specialists to achieve operational excellence.
  • Drive the implementation of defined strategies and goals, aligning them with your direct reports.
  • Organize proper staffing of engineers to provide adequate levels of technical expertise.
  • Prioritize work and resources across the team to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Improve team effectiveness and contribute to the company's Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Establish daily management (tier 1) for your team and drive KPIs within the required performance.
  • Guide team members in their professional development through goal setting, mentoring, and coaching.
  • Provide feedback on succession planning and input on the competence matrix.
  • Actively demonstrate and apply leadership behaviors and adhere to the company's 4i Values.
  • Remove barriers to success and create a work environment where colleagues can excel.
  • Provide input for capital investments and coordinate higher-level factory/supply chain critical issues.
  • Drive the execution of factory and field continuous improvement activities.

Requirements:

  • University degree in a technical area or a combination of education and experience demonstrating the required skills.
  • Typically requires 10+ years of experience in a high-tech industry environment in service, development, or manufacturing.
  • Typically requires 5 years of management experience (people and/or projects) in a manufacturing, technical support, or service management role in a high-tech industry environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, including communication with multiple levels of management, including executive management.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop people via mentoring and coaching.
  • Demonstrated experience with leading and developing technical teams.
  • Working knowledge of cross-site and cross-functional project management, data analysis, and resource planning.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse customers in English and preferably also Dutch.
  • Collaborative team-player with a hands-on and can-do mentality.
