Manufacturing Engineering System Integration Supervisor

As a key member of the Operations team at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will lead a group of engineers and technical specialists in the Manufacturing Engineering System Integration department. Your primary responsibility will be to coach and develop your team members, ensuring their personal and professional growth. You will work closely with the Operations Production Supervisor(s) from the TEM Test Factory to fulfill technical needs and provide support when necessary. This role requires strong technical skills, in-depth TEM knowledge, and excellent communication and facilitation skills. You will be responsible for organizing proper staffing of engineers to provide adequate levels of technical expertise and ensuring the timely delivery of products to our customers. Your team will act as a link between development (R&D) and production (Operations) to efficiently organize design transfer and life cycle management. You will work closely with the PLM, Product Marketing, R&D, manufacturing, logistics, purchasing, quality, and Technical Service Support (TSS) groups within Thermo Fisher to ensure the development of sustainable products according to the latest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of engineers and technical specialists.
  • Drive the defined strategy and align goals with direct reports.
  • Organize proper staffing of engineers to provide adequate levels of technical expertise.
  • Prioritize work and resources across the team.
  • Improve team effectiveness and contribute to OE KPIs.
  • Have daily management in place for your team and drive KPIs within required performance.
  • Guide team members' professional development through goal setting, mentoring, and coaching.
  • Provide input on succession planning and the competence matrix.
  • Actively demonstrate and apply leadership behaviors and 4i Values.
  • Remove barriers to success and enable a work environment where colleagues can be their best selves and are motivated to excel.
  • Provide input for capital investments and coordinate and facilitate higher-level factory/supply chain critical issues as needed.
  • Drive execution of factory and field continuous improvement activities.

Requirements:

  • University degree in a technical area or a combination of education and experience demonstrating required skills.
  • Typically requires 10+ years of experience in a high-tech industry environment in service, development, or manufacturing.
  • Typically requires 5 years of management experience (people and/or projects) in a manufacturing, technical support, or service management role in a high-tech industry environment.
  • Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, including communication with multiple levels of management, including executive management.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop people via mentoring and coaching.
  • Demonstrated experience with leading and developing technical teams.
  • Working knowledge of cross-site and cross-functional project management, data analysis, and resource planning.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse customers in English and preferably also Dutch.
  • Be a collaborative team-player with a hands-on and can-do mentality.
