About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regulatory Advisory Expert to join our Credit Transformation Office. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for understanding the root cause and specific regulatory intention behind findings, developing appropriate solutions, and steering the closure of regulatory and audit findings in a timely and effective manner.
Key Responsibilities- Develop a clear vision on what target regulatory compliant and efficient credit lifecycle processes look like based on client needs, regulatory requirements, and findings.
- Identify gaps vs vision and use regulatory expertise to advise FS on most suitable solutions for gap closure.
- Understand the background of ECBs observations/findings from a regulatory perspective as well as supervisory expectation and ensure a common understanding within ABN AMRO.
- Properly assess solutions based on signals during the OSI and expert opinions and define direction that will address observations, including understanding of achievable vs. initiative delivering and timelines and potential trade-offs.
- Define the proper action owner based on the chosen solution, in alignment with responsible recommendation owner.
- In case of gaps, ensure mitigants/risk acceptances are in place where required.
- Identify root causes of deficiencies in credit risk processes/dependencies and synergies across findings and new regulations/propose sequencing of solutioning to actively resolve them.
- Ensure that external deadlines are feasibly based on insight into implementation of solutions.
- Maintain a high level of combined regulatory as well as operational knowledge of Lending to handle complex compliancy issues, findings, and changes in a timely manner.
- Bring in best practices based on deep understanding of market developments.
The Credit Transformation Office oversees change initiatives that are responsible for building a future-proof and robust credit landscape. We are working on integrated IT systems that enable us to do our work efficiently, to deliver accurate and timely reports, and to meet (future) customer needs.
Requirements- Keen interest in lending, regulations, change, and credit risk.
- Understanding of business and financial risk dynamics and good understanding of the lending side of banks.
- Proactive, entrepreneurial, and change-driven.
- In-depth regulatory expertise.
- Experience with bank policies and regulations in the field of credit risk and ability to translate these in requirements.
- Good project management, stakeholder management, and communication skills (both written and oral).
- Strongly developed risk mindset first line of defence principle.
- At least 5-7 years of experience.
- Eager to learn.
