Role Overview

The Commissioning and Service Engineer plays a crucial role in executing independent commissioning, servicing, and maintenance tasks on electrical systems aboard vessels.

Your responsibilities will include diagnosing issues related to sensors, wiring, system cabinets, and other installation components. This involves replacing parts, adjusting configurations, and repairing components as necessary. You will actively engage in troubleshooting and prepare detailed service reports post-assessment.

Additionally, you will oversee the commissioning of new systems, including battery setups, hybrid systems, lifting mechanisms, and propulsion technologies. Your duties will involve testing wiring, sensors, and systems to ensure optimal functionality, identifying malfunction sources, and implementing effective solutions.

As vessels may be situated globally during service calls, readiness to travel at short notice is essential to provide timely support to clients.

Qualifications
  • Completed MBO in Electrical Engineering
  • Multiple years of experience in a comparable position, whether at junior, intermediate, or senior levels within the maritime sector
  • Familiarity with dredging technologies and processes, basic automation technology, and high-voltage systems
  • Possession of VCA-Vol certification or willingness to obtain it
  • Understanding of industry standards, safety protocols, quality assurance, and inspection requirements
  • Fluency in both Dutch and English, both written and spoken

Under the Metal and Technology Collective Labor Agreement, you will receive a competitive salary ranging from €2,900 to €3,600 gross per month, commensurate with your skills and experience. For international assignments, a generous allowance is provided. Additional benefits include travel reimbursement, 25 vacation days, and 13 ATJ days.

You will be enrolled in the Metal and Technology Pension Fund and have the option to participate in collective health insurance. A laptop and mobile phone will be provided for your work needs.

Furthermore, your children may benefit from educational funds for their studies, as study expenses are covered under our educational support policy.
