The Team
The European Buying Team holds comprehensive responsibility for Product Assortment & Strategy for our Full Price Stores, SIS, and e-Concessions across Europe. Collaborating closely with Merchandise Planning, Trade, and Allocation Teams, the Buying Team evaluates performance metrics, engages with Stores and Markets regularly, and translates insights into actionable commercial and strategic initiatives. Our mission is to curate the most compelling product assortments that align with PVH's objectives and DTC Strategy while ensuring the Global Brand Vision is effectively implemented throughout Europe. We foster a dynamic, inclusive, and respectful team culture that prioritizes the needs of Full Price Retail to enhance sales and create an exceptional shopping experience.
The Role
Reporting to the Buying Director, the Senior Buying Manager will oversee the Men's segment. Key responsibilities include:
- Formulating a European merchandise strategy by identifying emerging trends, analyzing current performance, and gathering insights from directly operated Stores, Brand Partners, and various countries.
- Collaborating with Global & European Product Teams to pinpoint gaps in the line plan and recommending enhancements to the market assortment.
- Managing the complete buying process for your designated areas, from providing timely feedback during Collection development to executing market preparations and conducting post-market evaluations.
- Developing aligned assortments in partnership with Ecom to boost DTC sales and enhance consumer messaging.
- Reviewing seasonal assortments against the merchandise plan to ensure alignment with company objectives.
- Keeping relevant departments and affiliated offices updated on key global product initiatives and ensuring their successful launch.
- Working with Merchandise Planning to oversee annual and seasonal budgets and inventory plans by country.
- Preparing market presentations that include line and product direction, style assortments, and pricing strategies.
- Monitoring and analyzing sales performance and inventory levels across markets.
- Providing essential product knowledge support to Stores to drive sales and enhance customer engagement.
- Maintaining close communication with stakeholders to stay informed about buying trends, competitor developments, and consumer insights.
- Leading cross-functional teams towards achieving business and profitability goals, while monitoring progress and strategizing solutions to challenges.
- Effectively managing a team of Retail Merchandisers/Buyers, focusing on team building, coaching, and training.
- Cultivating a high-performing team by developing talent, setting performance metrics, and providing regular feedback.
- Anticipating and planning for future business needs and organizational requirements.
- Taking ownership of the Calvin Klein Men's business area, demonstrating pride in product, processes, relationships, and outcomes.
The Ideal Candidate
- A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in the industry.
- Exceptional communication skills with proficiency in English (both written and spoken); knowledge of additional European languages is advantageous.
- Self-motivated and proactive.
- Detail-oriented with a passion for accuracy and presentation.
- A collaborative team player with a positive attitude and adaptability to change.
- A dedicated worker with flexibility, multitasking abilities, and a solution-oriented mindset.
