PhD Researcher in Digital Twin Platform for AI-supported Obesity Prevention

Job Description

The European project Healthy W8 aims to develop and test digital interventions tailored to different populations. As a PhD researcher, you will contribute to advancing digital platform design knowledge by integrating AI technology in an ethical manner. Your project will focus on developing a framework to deliver personalized and adaptive recommendations to participants, improving their adherence to the intervention.

You will work on prototyping and evaluating novel extensions to the architecture and recommendation components of an existing platform. Your research will be supervised at the department of Industrial Engineering, where you will lead information systems research, systems tailoring, and technical operations project tasks.

As a PhD researcher, you will receive autonomy and responsibility to propose and refine research contributions and information systems artifacts. You will be stimulated to consider emerging AI technologies, such as human digital twins and large language models, while respecting privacy and accountability challenges.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing a framework to deliver personalized and adaptive recommendations
  • Prototyping and evaluating novel extensions to the architecture and recommendation components
  • Leading information systems research, systems tailoring, and technical operations project tasks
  • Considering emerging AI technologies and respecting privacy and accountability challenges

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Information Systems, Software Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related discipline
  • Research-oriented attitude
  • Engineering-oriented attitude
  • Affinity with web development tools
  • Curiosity in disruptive business models
  • Eagerness to work in an interdisciplinary team
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Good skills for planning, pro-active monitoring, and strategic pivoting
  • Fluent in spoken and written English (C1 level)
