About the ProjectThe PATTERN project aims to create a long-lasting, multidisciplinary, academic-industrial network for doctoral training, with leading European industry and academia. The project focuses on the design of innovative EMI solutions throughout their lifecycle, with AI acting as the key enabler of a new design philosophy.
Research Programme DescriptionThe PhD researcher will work on developing physics-guided machine learning methods for capturing time-varying behavior of components, connectivity, and operational conditions. The goal is to design controllers efficiently based on the learnt models to suppress electromagnetic interference within electronic systems.

Requirements- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant field
- Theoretical and applied knowledge or interest in Machine Learning, Data-driven modelling, control design, electromagnetism
- Hands-on experimental experience in power converter control design and implementation
- Good communicative skills and the attitude to partake successfully in the work of a research team
- Good command of the English language (Spoken and Written)
The successful candidate will receive an attractive salary in accordance with the MSCA regulations for Doctoral Researchers. The nominal (gross) amount includes a living allowance, a mobility allowance, and a family allowance (if applicable). Deductions will apply for social security contributions and/or taxes according to the applicable national laws of the country where the recruiting organization is located.
Eligibility and Mobility Criteria- Supported researchers must be doctoral candidates, i.e. not already in possession of a doctoral degree at the date of the recruitment
- Recruited researchers can be of any nationality and must comply with the mobility rule: they must not have resided or carried out their main activity in the country of the recruiting beneficiary for more than 12 months in the 36 months immediately before their recruitment date
