SalaryWe offer a competitive salary range of €45,000 to €75,000 per year (scale 10), based on 38 hours of work per week. This includes an 8% holiday allowance and an 8.3% year-end allowance. Additionally, non-Dutch applicants may be eligible for a favorable tax agreement under the '30% ruling'.
Job DescriptionIn this exciting role, you will join our team as an experimental physicist, contributing to cutting-edge research in trapped ion quantum information. Your primary focus will be on exploring the optical Magnus effect in combination with tightly focused laser beams and their interaction with crystals of trapped ions. You will design and implement novel methods to prepare and control qubits, leveraging state-of-the-art techniques and technologies.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and conducting experiments using integrated photonics for tweezer delivery
- Developing and testing novel protocols for qubit preparation and control
- Collaborating with our team to advance the scalability of the scheme
To succeed in this position, you will require:
- A PhD in experimental physics or physical chemistry
- Previous laboratory experience with either trapped ions or optical tweezers for cold atoms
- Excellent communication skills, including fluency in English
- A strong publication record in relevant fields
