About Damen Services
Damen Services is a leading provider of after-sales activities for the Damen portfolio, focusing on workboats and offshore support vessels. Our division aims to be the strategic partner for sustainable service and support throughout the lifecycle of Damen customer's assets.
We have a global presence with service hubs worldwide and our head office in the Netherlands. Our goal is to deliver excellent service with the initial delivery and throughout the lifecycle of Damen vessels, striving for recurring customers for both new build and service.
Our Organization
Our organization is based on a decentralized management model, with area teams responsible for selling and delivering services in their area. These teams consist of multidisciplinary teams of commercial and operational roles, both in the head office and in the service hubs. A central governed part of the organization covers specialized commercial services, acting as an expertise and knowledge center on Damen service and providing operational, commercial, and staff expertise in support of the area teams.
The Role
As a Project Engineer within the Area Service Team Europe, you will be at the forefront of service provision, with direct contact with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders during the warranty period of ships. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Assessing warranty questions from the customer;
- Providing oral and written advice to the customer;
- Coordinating, monitoring, and supervising service activities to be carried out, occasionally on location;
- The technical preparation of assignments, including planning in time, personnel, and budget;
- Carrying out commercial assignments, such as providing technical assistance.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- An educational background in the field of Marine Engineering, Shipbuilding, or a related field;
- Knowledge of various ship systems;
- Excellent communication skills, a commitment to customer satisfaction, and a Services mentality;
- Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to maintain a good overview and attention to quality;
- A good command of the Dutch and English languages, both verbal and written.
