About the Role

Royal IHC is seeking a highly skilled Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Engineering department, you will play a crucial role in designing and engineering equipment for our maritime clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the proposal and concept phase of tenders to secure new projects.
  • Lead the development of concept, basic, and detail designs for various equipment.
  • Ensure the quality and completeness of engineering deliverables meet project requirements and company standards.
  • Share technical expertise with team members and support colleagues as needed.
  • Deliver input for progress reporting, costing, and project planning.
  • Perform strength and fatigue analyses, including reports and specifications.
  • Translate product standards and requirements into technical specifications.
  • Assess employee, supplier, and partner input.
  • Provide technical support to the Procurement department.
  • Maintain a positive working environment and foster teamwork.
Requirements
  • A higher vocational education (HBO) or academic higher education (WO) in marine or mechanical discipline, or a relevant field.
  • Five years' experience in a similar position, with proficiency in software such as Femap, Ansys, AutoCAD, Teamcenter, and SolidEdge.
  • Strong analytical and leadership skills, with a hands-on and person-oriented approach.
  • At least two years' experience in leading senior engineers.
  • Knowledge of engineering processes in a project-based work environment.
  • Knowledge of dredging and/or the offshore market is desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills and linguistic ability, preferably in English and Dutch.
What We Offer
  • A gross monthly salary between €4000,- and €5919,- +8% holiday allowance.
  • 40 vacation days for full-time employment, with the option to buy or sell additional leave.
  • The possibility to work from home with associated expense allowance and/or flexible working hours.

  • A training budget of €1,500 every three years and unlimited sporting in our fitness room.
