About the Role

Royal IHC is seeking a highly skilled Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and engineering equipment for our maritime clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement mechanical design concepts for various equipment, including winch systems, tensioners, and hose reel systems.
  • Lead a team of engineers to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scope, approach, and requirements.
  • Conduct strength and fatigue analyses, and prepare accompanying reports and specifications.
  • Translate product standards and requirements into technical specifications.
  • Assess employee, supplier, and partner input to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Provide technical support to the Procurement department.
  • Ensure a positive and collaborative work environment.
Requirements
  • Higher vocational education (HBO) or academic higher education (WO) in marine or mechanical discipline.
  • Five years' experience in a similar position, with expertise in software such as Femap, Ansys, AutoCAD, Teamcenter, and SolidEdge.
  • Strong analytical and leadership skills, with a hands-on and person-oriented approach.
  • At least two years' experience in leading senior engineers.
  • Knowledge of engineering processes in a project-based work environment.
  • Knowledge of dredging and/or the offshore market (desirable).
  • Excellent communication skills and linguistic ability, preferably in both English and Dutch.

  • A gross monthly salary between €4000,- and €5919,- +8% holiday allowance.
