Financial Controller for Revenue Cycle Excellence

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our team at PPHE Hotel Group. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the revenue cycle process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial accounting and control.

About the Role:

  • Discuss and agree on key objectives with your Line Manager to support achieving the department's goals and corporate priorities.
  • Take responsibility for your development and utilise all learning and development opportunities available.
  • Work primarily from Park Plaza Victoria Amsterdam, with regular travel to PPHE hotels within the Netherlands and occasional trips to the UK, Italy, and across Europe.

Main Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring full compliance with corporate policies and procedures, adhering to recognised international and local accounting standards.
  • Performing and supervising hotel internal audit checks, including income audit and cashiering.
  • Ensuring accurate banking of cash by hotels, reconciling with appropriate paperwork, and following SOPs.
  • Undertaking cashiering duties, such as change orders, managing/reviewing hotel and petty cash, and completing cash machine users' audit.
  • Supporting external or internal audits with test of controls and document preparation.
  • Reviewing tourist tax reconciliations of hotels.
  • Producing and coordinating daily, weekly, and monthly management & financial reporting.
  • Analysing complex datasets to create valuable insights.
  • Preparing general ledger journal entries, including correction journals, petty cash, and revenue transfer journals.
  • Liaising with centralised transactional teams, Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), to ensure accurate processes.
  • Informing the Cluster Income Audit Manager/Business Controller about problems and abnormalities.
