PhD Position in Metasurfaces for Energy-Efficient Wave-Based Computing

We are seeking a talented and motivated PhD candidate to join our research group at AMOLF, a leading research institute in the Netherlands. The successful candidate will work on the development of metasurfaces for energy-efficient wave-based computing, a novel approach to information processing that has the potential to revolutionize the field of computing.
Work ActivitiesThe PhD candidate will be responsible for designing, fabricating, and characterizing metasurfaces for wave-based computing. This will involve a combination of theoretical modeling, numerical simulations, and experimental work. The candidate will also be expected to collaborate with other researchers in the group and contribute to the development of new ideas and concepts.
QualificationsWe seek an excellent candidate with a master's degree in physics, photonics, materials science, or a related field. The candidate should have a strong background in optics, photonics, or a related field, and experience with experimental techniques such as spectroscopy and microscopy. The candidate should also be proficient in programming languages such as Python or MATLAB.
Work EnvironmentThe PhD position is part of a collaborative effort involving the groups of dr. S. Rodriguez, Prof. F. Koenderink, and Prof. E. Verhagen. The successful candidate will have their home base in the group of dr. Said Rodriguez, but is expected to collaborate with all involved partners.
