Job Overview

As an Electrical Engineer for Ship Repair and Maintenance at Damen Shipyards, you will be responsible for servicing and repairing electrical engineering installations on Damen ships and other vessels. You will also supervise construction, perform operational commissioning tasks, provide training for ships and ship systems globally, and ensure optimal operating conditions in various locations and cultures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Fix breakdowns and perform maintenance, overhaul, and installation work on mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and process engineering installations on Damen ships and other vessels.
  • Support local shipyards with the operational commissioning of ships.
  • Provide instruction and training to third parties on ship operation, use, and maintenance.
  • Conduct administrative duties and create project reports.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent level of education.
  • Several years of experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • EU passport or valid work permit for the Netherlands.
  • Good command of English, both verbally and in writing. Dutch proficiency is required.
Technical Skills:
  • Experience with control and PLC systems.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical engineering.
  • Knowledge of electrical installations.
  • Inspection, testing, and maintenance expertise.
