Job Title: Customs and Excise Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Customs and Excise Specialist to join our Tax Team at VARO Energy in Rotterdam. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with customs and excise regulations, managing customs and excise inventory, and providing support for customs and excise audits.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safeguarding our AEO status and ensuring timely submission of customs and excise duty returns and declarations.
  • Managing customs and excise stock records and performing checks included in the internal control program.
  • Providing support for customs and excise licenses or guarantees and assisting with customs audits.
  • Performing administrative duties related to customs and excise, including drafting and submitting CBS declarations and monthly statements.
Requirements:
  • Solid command of Dutch, both written and verbally.
  • Graduated MBO studies in Administration combined with 3-6 years experience in Customs and Excise, or HBO studies combined with 1-3 years experience in Customs and Excise.
  • Preferably obtained a(n) (Assistant) Customs Declarant certification.
  • Affinity for or demonstrated interest in Customs and Excise.
  • Full time availability and willingness to work duty rota shifts.
