Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for data protection? We're looking for a Compliance Specialist/Global Delegate Data Protection Officer to join our team at ING Bank NV.

The Role

You will work within the Data Protection Compliance vertical, a new department within the Compliance Department. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and advising on risks related to personal data processing activities;
  • Coordinating global data breach events and reporting to the Lead Supervisory Authority;
  • Providing advice on data retention obligations and challenging personal data processing;
  • Steering consistency in approach and interpretation of Data Protection and Data Retention Policies;
  • Supporting final decision making on specific files and monitoring solution implementation;
  • Acting as a mentor to the DP Advisory team members;
  • Overseeing completeness of coverage of ING's geographical areas;

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Global stakeholder management and influencing skills;
  • Ability to energize others and work in a multidisciplinary setting;
  • Independence, thinking out of the box, and taking accountability;
  • Team player with trust and reliability;
  • Adherence to ING's orange code values and the Banker's Oath;
  • 5-8 years of professional experience with Data Protection activities and related legal experience;
  • In-depth knowledge of GDPR regulation;
  • Excellent collaboration skills and ability to work across functional and geographic lines;
  • University degree in Law or equivalent knowledge/experience;
  • Excellent English communication skills;
