The Manager Investments Bespoke Solutions works closely with the Value Stream Manager Investments and Data Technology and is a member of the Investments and Data Technology Management Team.
In the Investments & Data Technology department, the Investments Bespoke Solutions (IBS) team develops custom applications to support our main investments business processes. These applications handle millions of euros every day, with examples including instrument ranking, investment portfolio rebalancing, and investment opportunity assessment.
Position and RequirementsIBS is continuously improving its technology and way of working. We have 4 scrum teams and strive to be as Agile as possible, following a DevOps approach. New applications are deployed in Azure and designed to be cloud-native, using microservice architecture, Domain Driven Design, CQRS, and Event Sourcing. We expose data to other teams or modern web frontends using APIs, and automated testing is essential to our development strategy.
The team consists of about 20 software engineers who have successfully built several key applications in recent years. Our infrastructure/integration architect with a focus on cloud solutions helps the scrum teams work independently as possible.
Key Responsibilities- Creating custom software solutions according to specifications, schedule, and budget in close collaboration with the solution architect and product owners.
- Leading the team to improve execution and technology skills.
- Fostering the Agile Dev/Ops mindset.
- Managing the team budget and priorities.
- Business stakeholder management.
- Quick resolution of service disruptions.
- Operational and HR management to ensure the team has high-quality developers that match the team culture.
- Bachelor's degree level or equivalent.
- Over 5 years of IT project management experience in the asset management industry.
- Over 5 years of management experience.
- Extensive experience in working in large projects, Agile, and DevOps, and of the asset management industry in general.
- Good communication skills and a strong personality that can handle demanding business stakeholders.
- Understanding of microservices architecture and experience in that context.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and push a team of skilled software development experts to a higher level via secure-based leadership.
- Pragmatism and ability to adapt to different management styles when needed.
- Creative and critical thinker that can find the right balance between technical innovation and stable/secure services.
- Ability to speak and write fluently in Dutch and English.
Working Conditions
Minimum availability of 32 hours per week (full-time preferred). Willing to work on-site at Robeco at least 3 days per week (under normal circumstances).
