Project Overview

The Universiteit van Amsterdam is seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher to join our team in the Wellbeing Economy Research project. The project aims to investigate the social and economic wellbeing of neighbourhoods in Amsterdam Nieuw-West and Amsterdam Zuid-Oost, using a co-creation process, in-depth interviews, and survey research.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyse quantitative and qualitative data on social and economic wellbeing in multiple neighbourhoods.
  • Conduct in-depth interviews and survey research with local community groups and urban policy stakeholders.
  • Develop and apply advanced quantitative data analysis techniques, including principal component analysis, cluster analysis, and multiple regression analysis.
  • Communicate research findings to science, policy, and practice in an accessible manner.
  • Support the maintenance of the project's database.
  • Publish academic articles and present research findings at national and international conferences.

Requirements

  • Research Master in Economics or Social Sciences.
  • Quantitative data collection and analysis skills.
  • Proven knowledge of alternative economics.
  • Experience working in an international team.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Dutch and English (C2).
