About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Lead Engineer to join our Engineering & Projects team at Damen Shipyards. The ideal candidate is a proactive and innovative individual who can contribute to our company's reputation for quality construction and engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate in the execution of the four phases of engineering: design check, basic engineering, detailed engineering, and production support;
- Prepare technical space layouts, system diagrams, and outfitting arrangements;
- Prepare technical specifications for systems and equipment;
- Perform calculations in the Mechanical Engineering field;
- Evaluate the load balance on vessels to install energy efficiency systems;
- Work closely together with all stakeholders;
- Monitor quality and help interface and system integration with other disciplines and co-makers;
- Support in the Client, Class, and National Authorities approval process;
- Support the coordination of the outsourcing of work to subcontractors.
Requirements
- Degree in Maritime Engineering or related field of expertise;
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience in the field of shipbuilding engineering;
- Proficient in software packages like AutoCAD, Rhino, and Nupas-Cadmatic;
- Excellent communication skills in English and preferably Dutch;
- Demonstrated interest in innovation and openness to new technologies;
- Proven track record of working effectively in a team and planning and organizing work efficiently;
- Quality consciousness, practical approach, and results-focused.
