Role Overview
The Global Supply Chain Planner plays a pivotal role in aligning supply chain strategies with market demand. This position is responsible for ensuring product availability while optimizing inventory levels, production schedules, and supplier relationships. The planner collaborates with local supply chain teams to manage short-term production dynamics while setting strategic direction for future supply.
Key Responsibilities
- Inventory Management: Ensure optimal inventory levels to balance carrying costs with service level objectives.
- Supply Planning: Formulate and implement supply plans that guarantee product availability across the global network, focusing on cost optimization and maximizing production output.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Cultivate strong partnerships with external manufacturers to secure favorable terms and ensure reliable supply.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage with local supply chain teams, finance, and product managers to synchronize supply chain strategies with business goals.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and execute process enhancements and system upgrades to boost efficiency and reduce supply chain costs.
- Risk Management: Anticipate and mitigate potential supply chain disruptions, leading stakeholders through crises when necessary.
- Analytics and Reporting: Leverage supply chain data to create insightful reports and analytics that support decision-making and performance monitoring.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in demand planning or supply chain management, preferably within multinational organizations.
- Proficiency in advanced supply chain planning software and tools.
- Strong analytical capabilities with a focus on data interpretation and informed decision-making.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across various organizational levels.
- Financial acumen to enhance profitability and drive informed decisions.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a keen attention to detail.
- Fluency in English is required.
