PhD Researcher in Physics-Guided Machine Learning for Electromagnetic Compatibility

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled researcher to join our team at Eindhoven University of Technology. As a PhD researcher, you will be part of the PATTERN project, a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Doctoral Network funded by the EU.
Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will work on developing physics-guided machine learning methods for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) in medical electronic equipment. You will be responsible for designing and implementing machine learning algorithms to capture the time-varying behavior of components, connectivity, and operational conditions. Your research will focus on exploring control strategies to design controllers efficiently based on the learnt models to suppress electromagnetic interference within electronic systems.
Research Programme DescriptionThe PATTERN project brings together 9 leading European universities and industry partners to create a long-lasting, multidisciplinary, academic-industrial network for doctoral training. The project aims to achieve a breakthrough in the design of innovative EMI solutions throughout their lifecycle, with AI acting as the key enabler of a new design philosophy. As a researcher, you will contribute to the development of dedicated components, tools, and techniques for EMI solutions and apply them to a representative set of EMI solutions under development.
About the TeamYou will be part of a dynamic and interdisciplinary team at Eindhoven University of Technology, working closely with researchers and industry partners. Our team is committed to advancing the field of electromagnetic compatibility and developing innovative solutions for medical electronic equipment.
Requirements- Master's degree in electrical engineering or a related field
- Theoretical and applied knowledge of machine learning, data-driven modeling, control design, and electromagnetism
- Hands-on experimental experience in power converter control design and implementation
- Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team
- Excellent command of the English language (spoken and written)
The successful candidate will receive an attractive salary in accordance with the MSCA regulations for Doctoral Researchers. The salary includes a living allowance, mobility allowance, and family allowance (if applicable).
