Job Title: Finance and Accountancy Manager

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is a leading international independent medical humanitarian organisation, dedicated to providing expert medical relief to vulnerable populations at times of conflict or disaster.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance and Accountancy Manager to join our team in Augusta, Sicily. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and supervising the accounting of the mission, ensuring quality, reliability, and transparency in financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinating and supervising the accounting of the mission, including cash procedures, bank accounts, receipts, and supporting documents.
  • Performing monthly reconciliations, managing bank reconciliations, and maintaining records according to MSF standards and local finance policies.
  • Assessing and suggesting mitigation measures of financial risks of the project.
  • Coordinating and overseeing the payment of tax liabilities and conducting local audits relating to accounting, tax, labour, stock, and asset management.
  • Planning and supervising the associated processes of staff under his/her responsibility, including recruitment, training, evaluation, potential detection, development, and communication.
  • Providing technical reference for any accounting-related issue, including compliance with MSF financial standards and procedures, legal compliance, training, and support on the MSF accounting software system.
Requirements
  • Essential solid accountancy training and experience.
  • Professional accounting qualification.
  • Desirable University degree in accounting, finance, or business administration.
  • Essential 4 years previous experience in similar relevant position jobs.
  • Desirable Experience in opening missions and setting up financial processes in the mission.
  • Fluent written and spoken English essential; Italian mandatory.
  • Proficient computer literacy (word, excel, internet).
  • Local accounting standards.
  • Desirable MSF accounting software, ERP system knowledge, local laws.
What We Offer

An Italian employment contract from 19th August 2024, based on 40 hours per week full-time. Level II CCNL Commercio Terizario Distribuzione e Servizi. The contract is for 1 year with renewal option. Candidate should hold a work permit to work in Italy.

Gross Annual Salary: Between 36,680 Euros and 44,016 Euros, depending on MSF experience of the selected candidate.

Duty Station: Based in MSF Augusta (SR) Sicily office.
