Job Description

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Full Professor of International Relations to join our team at the Institute of Political Science of Leiden University.

About the Position

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing research and educational leadership in the complex and dynamic field of international relations. The position is open regarding subfield and methodological approach, but we are particularly interested in candidates who would bring new areas of expertise to the Institute's full professor ranks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct and publish advanced research on international relations
  • Mentor junior colleagues and supervise PhDs in this and related areas of political science
  • Teach BSc and MSc students and play a leading role in applying for external research funding
  • Contribute to the intellectual and administrative life of the Institute
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess a PhD, a strong record of publications in leading journals and/or scholarly presses, and a clear agenda for future research that relates to the research programme and strategic plan of the Institute and Faculty. They must also have experience in designing and delivering high-quality education at undergraduate and graduate levels, including lectures, seminars, and thesis supervision.
