Role Responsibilities
As a Fragrance Innovation Specialist, you will be tasked with developing and executing strategies for product innovation that yield distinctive and consumer-relevant fragrance solutions for the global fabric care sector.
Utilizing consumer insights as a primary resource, you will address both internal and external opportunities for product and process advancement. Your collaboration with cross-functional teams will be essential in enhancing existing capabilities and discovering new consumer and customer solutions. You will also spearhead the development of novel fragrance themes, technologies, and processes while managing project resources to adhere to timelines and budgetary constraints.
Key Duties
Innovation & Leadership
- Lead global innovation initiatives to create and implement groundbreaking fragrance development strategies.
- Align market, customer, and consumer needs to propose competitive product solutions that drive business success.
- Collaborate with diverse teams, including perfumers and R&D, to identify challenges and opportunities, developing new fragrance solutions.
- Manage projects with significant technical content related to fragrance technologies and formulations.
- Encourage ideation within teams to discover new consumer solutions and development methodologies.
- Formulate a consumer insights strategy to leverage learnings for competitive advantage.
- Identify gaps and opportunities to inform technical and R&D briefings.
Project Management
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure fragrance strategies align with overarching business goals.
- Drive effective processes and execution to achieve timely market introductions.
- Monitor project outcomes and adjust strategies as necessary.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of market dynamics to establish competitive solutions.
- Ensure global visibility for projects, both internally and externally.
Knowledge Sharing
- Share insights and knowledge proactively to empower teams.
- Document learnings and present market trends, fragrance solutions, and creative guidelines to relevant stakeholders.
Team Development
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Build strong relationships with global teams and stakeholders.
- Take charge of your professional growth by collaborating with your manager on setting objectives and development plans.
Qualifications
- A Master's or Bachelor's degree in Perfumery, Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
- A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a fragrance house or consumer goods environment, preferably in an international context.
- Experience in the Fabric Care category is advantageous.
- Strong olfactory skills; olfactory assessment will be part of the selection process.
