PhD Researcher in Bayesian Evaluation of Psychological Treatments for Traumatized Refugees

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate to join our research team at the Universiteit Utrecht. The successful candidate will be part of a project focused on developing and evaluating interventions for traumatized refugees using Bayesian methods.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct a thorough review of existing literature on the treatment of consequences of psychotrauma in migrants and refugees.
- Develop and refine protocols for different treatment interventions focused on consequences of trauma and loss, in close collaboration with therapists at ARQ Centrum'45.
- Design, implement, and monitor multiple small-scale studies to test treatment protocols, in collaboration with these therapists.
- Evaluate the effects of the treatments, using Bayesian methods and statistics.
- Write up findings for publication and present research at conferences and workshops.
- Contribute to the development of statistical and research skills through attending classes and seminars.
- Conduct teaching (10% of the appointment) to psychology students.
- A Master's degree in psychology or a related field.
- Research experience (from a master's thesis) and clinical experience (from a clinical internship).
- Good organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills in both Dutch and English.
- Interest in working in an interdisciplinary team consisting of clinical psychologists, psychotherapists, psychiatrists, programmers, and statisticians.
- Affinity with the consequences of psychotrauma in people with a (western and non-western) migration background.
- Ability to conduct research in clinical practice and motivate both clients and care providers to participate in that research.

What We Offer- A four-year PhD position with a working week of 38 hours or a five-year PhD position with a working week of 30.4 hours.
- A gross monthly salary between €2,872 and €3,670 in the case of full-time employment.
- 8% holiday pay and 8.3% year-end bonus.
