Assistant Professor of Crop Genomics and Engineering

We are seeking an exceptional Assistant Professor of Crop Genomics and Engineering to join our team at Radboud University. As a key member of our department, you will contribute to our expanding research and education in the area of crop biotechnology and engineering.
Key Responsibilities- Establish a strong Crop Genomics and Engineering research line, collaborating with our current team and external partners.
- Develop and lead research projects in computational and synthetic biology, focusing on the functional interpretation of genomic data and its application in crop improvement.
- Teach and mentor students in our Biology BSc programme and the new Crop Biotechnology and Engineering MSc programme.
- Secure research funding from national and international sources, including the EU and ERC.
- Contribute to academic and administrative activities, including participation in institutional and university committees.
- PhD in a relevant field, such as computational biology, genomics, bioinformatics, or a related area.
- Strong research reputation and international network in crop biotechnology and engineering.
- Excellent teaching and mentoring skills, with experience in the subject area.
- Ability to secure research funding and collaborate with external partners.
- Strong organizational and management skills, with experience in academic and administrative activities.
