We are seeking an experienced 
Field (Engineering & Services) Operations Manager
 to lead and develop our field engineering and project delivery organisation—covering first-line and second-line support, service delivery, project delivery and onsite activities across customer (datacenter) deployments. This position combines operational leadership with strategic service development. You will manage both internal staff and external service partners, ensuring that field operations consistently deliver high-quality support throughout the full customer lifecycle.

The ideal candidate is an operational leader with strong technical understanding, excellent communication skills, and a service-oriented mindset with commercial awareness.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Lead and manage in-house and partner field engineering teams across multiple countries.
  • Oversee on-site activities including site visits, FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing), SAT (Site Acceptance Testing), troubleshooting, optimisation and customer/partner training.
  • Ensure effective coordination of first-line and second-line support activities.
  • Maintain high operational standards and ensure compliance with processes, safety, and customer requirements.

Service Delivery & Support

  • Support service ticket and incident management, ensuring timely response and resolution.
  • Monitor and improve field performance KPIs, service quality, escalation flows, and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide hands-on operational support when needed to critical or complex cases.

Training & Documentation

  • Create, maintain and deliver training programs for internal operations teams, partners, and customers.
  • Ensure clear, up-to-date operational documentation, procedures, and service handbooks.

Strategic Service Offering Development

  • Develop and refine the company's service offerings across the customer lifecycle—from deployment and commissioning to long-term operations.
  • Identify opportunities for optimisation, standardisation, and cost-effective service delivery.
  • Build strong relationships with service partners and contribute to long-term operational strategy.

Requirements

Experience & Background

  • Proven experience in datacenter environments, either as an operator or service provider.
  • Technical/engineering background preferred
  • 5+ years in field operations, service delivery, or similar leadership roles.
  • Experience managing both internal teams and external service partners.

Skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to work with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent project management, planning, and organisational capabilities.
  • Solid documentation and reporting skills.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to act calmly and effectively under pressure.
  • Service-oriented approach combined with commercial awareness.

Languages

  • Fluent English (mandatory).
  • Additional European languages—especially German, Dutch or French—are a strong advantage.

Other

  • Willingness to travel frequently (up to 50%).
  • Valid EU work eligibility
