Local Unit & Position Description 

Our fuel analysis team is working for a broad range of customers primarily in the gas industry sector. Our laboratory technicians and analysts deliver fuel analysis services of gaseous energy carriers, like hydrogen, natural gas, synthetic gases, biologically formed gases and emission gases. With the ISO 17025 accreditation for our operational environment, our methodology for analyses is traceable to the highest national and international standards

The service portfolio includes a wide range of laboratory quality measurement capabilities. In addition to the laboratory capabilities on-site gas quality measurement and performance compliance testing for gas technologies are performed. We offer a broad range of facilities for on-site gas quality measurements in order to support operations or verify compliance of gas technologies.

We deliver our fuel analysis services to a rapidly changing gas industry. The increased introduction of renewables, shale gases and LNG are a growing challenge. While the industry is diversifying and moving to a more sustainable future, it’s important to ensure safe, affordable and reliable transport, distribution and end-use of gas. The understanding of gas composition and performance, in addition to compliance to standards, secures a safe, reliable and beneficial gas industry.

Ons analyse team werkt voor een breed scala van klanten, voornamelijk in de gasindustrie. Onze laboratoriumtechnici en -analisten leveren brandstofanalysediensten van gasvormige energiedragers, zoals waterstof, aardgas, synthetische gassen, biologisch geproduceerde gassen en rookgassen. Met de ISO 17025 accreditatie voor onze operationele omgeving zijn onze analysemethoden te herleiden tot de hoogste nationale en internationale standaarden.

Het serviceportfolio omvat een breed scala aan analysemethoden. Naast de analyses in het laboratorium worden ook on-site gaskwaliteitsmetingen en prestatie beoordelingen voor diverse gasinstallaties uitgevoerd. We bieden een breed scala aan mobiele faciliteiten aan voor gaskwaliteitsmetingen ter plaatse om de dagelijkse operatie te ondersteunen of de naleving conform normen en standaarden van de gasinstallaties te verifiëren.

We leveren onze analysediensten aan een snel veranderende gasindustrie. De toenemende introductie van waterstof, biogas en (bio)-LNG vormen een groeiende uitdaging. Hoewel de industrie diversifieert en op weg is naar een duurzamere toekomst, is het belangrijk om te zorgen voor veilig, betaalbaar en betrouwbaar transport, distributie en eindgebruik van gas. Kennis hebben van de gassamenstelling en grip houden op de prestaties, naast naleving van normen, verzekert een veilige, betrouwbare en efficiënte werking van de gasinstallaties.

Job profile

We are looking for a laboratory technician / chemical analyst at DNV’s technology centre in Groningen. As a laboratory technician / chemical analyst you are responsible for the timely delivery of reliable analysis results. Taking and collecting samples from customers on location as well as performing on-site gas quality measurements are also an important part of your daily work. You will work with various analytical techniques and equipment, in particular IR, GC and GC-MS.

Your tasks include:

Produce reliable analysis results while maintaining a high-quality standard of the services; Comply with the (internal) laboratory procedures in accordance with ISO17025 and other quality systems; Taking and collecting samples from customers on location; Preparing and performing on-site gas quality measurements; Periodically, checking, calibrating and maintaining analysis equipment and reporting; Administrating analysis using LIMS and Microsoft Office software; Work safely according standards and procedures; Identifying customer demands and needs.

Position Qualifications 

Completed MLO in (analytical) chemistry or equivalent; Experience with IR, GC and GC-MS or analysis in the gas industry is recommended; 2-5 years of relevant work experience; Willingness to take courses relevant to the work; Willingness to travel for the work; Driving license (B).

Functieprofiel

We zijn op zoek naar een laboratoriumtechnicus / chemisch analist voor het Technology Centre van DNV in Groningen. Als laboratoriumtechnicus / chemisch analist ben je verantwoordelijk voor de tijdige levering van betrouwbare analyseresultaten. Het nemen en verzamelen van monsters van klanten op locatie en het uitvoeren van on-site gaskwaliteitsmetingen zijn ook een belangrijk onderdeel van de dagelijkse werkzaamheden. Je werkt met verschillende analytische technieken en apparatuur, in het bijzonder IR, GC en GC-MS.

Je taken omvatten

Leveren van betrouwbare analyseresultaten met behoud van een hoge kwaliteitsstandaard van de diensten; Voldoen aan de (interne) laboratoriumprocedures in overeenstemming met ISO17025 en andere kwaliteitssystemen; Monsters nemen en verzamelen van klanten op locatie; Voorbereiden en uitvoeren van on-site gaskwaliteitsmetingen; Periodiek controleren, kalibreren en onderhouden van analyseapparatuur en hierover rapporteren; Beheer van analyses met behulp van LIMS en Microsoft Office-software; Werkzaamheden uitvoeren conform de veiligheidsstandaarden en -procedures; Identificeren van eisen en behoeften van klanten.
