Within CO+I, the strategic Supply Chain team is responsible for establishing a supply chain that can meet the ever-growing Microsoft Cloud for our customers. We support a portfolio of complex, multi-disciplinary, multi-billion, multi-year datacenter construction and lease projects and operations of those assets. We are looking to fill a critical role of Global Category Manager.

Experience in one or more key categories including Mechanical & Electrical Equipment Construction Experience: Preference for experience on large-scale projects - sourcing, managing and administering contracts large dollar contracts of over $400+ MillionBehaviors:

Master’s degree in a technical, business or related field preferred. Construction Experience on large-scale projects - sourcing, managing and administering contracts large dollar contracts of over $400+ Million Strong commercial understanding and experience driving developing contractual on key categories (General Contractors, Mechanical & Electrical Equipment, Construction Services, Operations Services). Knowledge of data center industry and experience managing a variety of project delivery methods - ability to lead a project team in defining risk and developing the appropriate contracting and compensation approach. High energy a drive to achieve results in midst of ambiguity and matrixed org. Technical ability to write contracts, ability to set up sourcing plans and negotiation strategies and execute them. Excellent communicator that can interact with diverse groups across organizational levels. Familiarity with common process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six-Sigma, etc.) and ability to facilitate change management. Ability to implement new processes and get buy in from a cross functional team. High-integrity - must be ethical and strong value-based individual focused on fairness and maintaining confidentiality. Category Vision and Strategy : Creates, communicates, and maintains global category visions and strategies based on business intelligence, Microsoft policies, and Microsoft-wide cross-functional buy-in from stakeholders. Strategic Sourcing Alignment : Maintains strategic alignment with sourcing execution teams to continuously re-evaluate and improve Microsoft procurement. Negotiation Strategy : Develops negotiation strategies, organize procurement bid results, and then communicates complete strategy and results to senior management. Supplier Selection : Oversees supplier selection and performance management. Ensures alignment to Microsoft business goals and policies. Contracting : Understands industry contracting norms and Microsoft contracting requirements. Successfully facilitates negotiation of final contracts that achieve business goals.
